“Meditation is not a way of making the mind quiet.  It’s a way of entering into the quiet that’s already there – buried under the 50,000 thoughts the average person thinks every day.”   - Deepak Chopra

Ready to take your practice to the next level?

Learn to share this ancient meditation technique in yoga studios and other healing settings!  Being a yoga teacher is not a prerequisite to becoming certified in this practice - therapists and healers of all kinds can

incorporate Yoga Nidra into their healing modalities.

Weekend One will consist of learning about and receiving Yoga Nidra.  This is an immersion weekend designed for you to learn, experience, and simply receive.  We will discuss the role of stress in our lives, and how we can use Yoga Nidra to effectively manage the stressors facing us in the world today.  Learn how to create a sacred personal practice, so that Yoga Nidra can become a sanctuary you can retreat to again and again.

There is an art to sharing this meditation practice with others, and in Weekend Two we will learn how to effectively transmit Yoga Nidra in a powerful way, so that your students and clients are better able to receive the healing capabilities that this practice is designed for.  Learn best practices for

assuming the seat of the teacher, so that your sessions deliver the highest quality transmission of this healing meditation.

This course consists of two 17-hour weekends followed by 6 hours of practicum.  Practicum requirements are as follows:

  • Requirement #1:  Attend three Yoga Nidra zoom classes with Julie Lemerond - each session will require a short written student report about each session.  The class schedule for these classes will be discussed during weekend one.  Students can always receive a recording of the classes if they are unable to attend live.  These classes can be taken in the weeks between Weekend One and Two if desired.  (3 practicum hours)
  • Requirement #2:  Lead TWO Yoga Nidra sessions, group or individual, and write a summary of the session.  Include any feedback from the recipient(s).  A sample feedback form will be provided for you to give to students. (2 practicum hours)
  • Requirement #3:  AFTER completing Requirement #2 and receiving your feedback from Julie, lead a final Yoga Nidra session (group or individual) and record the session.  Please incorporate any applicable feedback or suggestions into this session.  Send the audio recording to Julie for feedback.

          (1 practicum hour)

  • Once all of the practicum requirements are completed, you will receive a Basic Yoga Nidra certification from the Amrit Yoga Institute as well as Authentic Yoga.  You will also receive a discount for the full 100-hour Yoga Nidra Teacher Training at the Amrit Yoga Institute if you desire to continue your studies and certifications.  Please note that this is considered an 'Introductory' Yoga Nidra teacher training.  Each student will leave with three Yoga Nidra scripts and be certified to share Yoga Nidra in yoga studios and other healing spaces.  In addition, this course will count towards 40 hours of Continuing Education through Yoga Alliance.  This course will be recorded and sent to participants for continued access in the future!
