A FOUR-WEEK YOGA AND MEDITATION SERIES
We are living in complex and stressful times, and it can be easy to lose our focus on the things that matter most to us, and what we truly desire to get out of life. For many of us, right now we are just spending our days and weeks paddling on the surface, trying to get by on a day-by-day basis without too much conflict.
Let’s spend some time together, exploring and reawakening our desires and plans for our lives in this four-week yoga and meditation series.
A brand new year is the best place to start.
In these four weeks, we will experience the following concepts through gentle yoga and meditation practices. Each week will have a different theme and a fresh perspective to receive, as we move through this series. You will be prompted with writing exercises to do on your own each week, with readings to contemplate before we meet in class. It is strongly recommended to be able to make it live to class, but if you can’t, these classes will be recorded and sent to you; you will have access to them forever.

WEEK 1: INTENTION-SETTING - CREATE A MANTRA FOR 2021. Saturday, January 2nd, 10am PST
This class will be a lecture and discussion about how we create intentions (also called a Sankalpa) and then incorporate it into the practice of Yoga Nidra, which is a sleep-based meditation. You will have time to create your own intention to use in the meditation as well as to use as a personal theme throughout 2021. We will end class with a Yoga Nidra meditation to seal this sankalpa into your entire body/mind complex. There will be no physical yoga during this class.
WEEK 2: RELEASING REACTION. Saturday, January 9th, 10am PST
This week's theme will be how we can live with less reaction to the people and things that bother us, exploring the concept of 'how we are on the mat is how we are off the mat.' We will start with a brief lecture and discussion about this topic, followed by a Yin Yoga practice and Yoga Nidra.
WEEK 3: ROOTING TO RISE. Saturday, January 16th, 10am PST
This week's theme is about how we can get grounded, and how that helps us fly. We practice this on the yoga mat, and then watch how it translates to our daily lives. We will be practicing Gentle Yoga with balancing poses, and follow it with a guided meditation that can be done either seated or laying down.
WEEK 4: SUPPORT & TRUSTING THE UNIVERSE. Saturday, January 23rd, 10am PST
For our final week, the theme will be centered around receiving support and trusting everything that is to come, and to realize that life is happening FOR us and not TO us. We will be practicing a nourishing Restorative Yoga class followed by a meditation to seal in this sense of trustful surrender.
You do not need any yoga or meditation experience in order to take this series.
Classes will be gentle and you can just do what you can if these practices are new to you.
Each week will have journal prompts for you to do on your own time, offering things to reflect on, questions allowing you to look at your life from the inside out, and asking how you can envision more for yourself. All journaling and writing prompts are solely for your own growth and evolution, and will not be required to be discussed during our online gatherings. They are simply a chance for you to reflect on your life, what’s working in it and what’s not working, and how, where and why you might want to make some changes.
